Turn on manual payroll feature

I have QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2021. I want to use the manual payroll feature but going to Edit, Preferences, Payroll & Employees, under Company Preferences tab, the section QuickBooks Desktop Payroll Features settings is OFF (see the attached image). How can I turn it on? How can I use manual payroll instead of subscribe QB Payroll?

Welcome to Community!  QuickBooks is a powerful program that enables you to complete your daily tasks with peace of mind.  QuickBooks Desktop Canada doesn't have the option for manual payroll.  You'll need to make the calculations outside of the program and then enter the transactions.  Here's how to locate the guide to process payroll manually;

 

1. Select Help from the menu

2. Choose QuickBooks Desktop Help

3. Click on Help

4. Hit the Search button and type 'process payroll manually'

 

If you're not certain with how to enter the transactions, I suggest reaching out to your accountant for the best course of action.  If you don't have an accountant, we can help you locate a ProAdvisor in your local area.
