Hello service-installr,

Welcome to Community!  Paying your staff with direct deposit in QuickBooks Online Payroll is a great way to pay your staff with confidence.  I can understand the concern when direct deposit isn't applied as expected.  I would be glad to provide some insight here!

It's essential to ensure you've completed all of the steps to set up direct deposit, including verifying the test transaction.  In addition, you'll need to ensure that you submit payroll based on the processing timeline for your account.  With direct deposit, you will need to submit your payroll information to Intuit before 5:00 PM (PT) at least 2 banking days before the pay date. However, this will depend on the lead time indicated on your payroll terms, as times vary between two to five days.

In your current situation, you'll need to pay your staff with paper cheque, or e-transfer, so they receive their funds without delay.

Should you have additional questions or concerns, I encourage you to contact our QuickBooks Online Payroll specialists, outside of Community.  They will be able to work with you in real-time and look further into your situation in more depth, and provide the best course of action to ensure direct deposit is activated for the next pay period.

Feel free to reach out again, if you have other questions.  We would be glad to help!
