We wish to issue a bonus to employees. If this is done in the middle of a pay period, i.e. in addition to regular payroll, will there be an additional charge?

Welcome to Community!  QuickBooks Online Payroll is a dynamic program that allows you to pay your staff with peace of mind.  It's great to hear that you'd like to give your employees a bonus.  I'll be happy to provide more information so you can get back to what you love!

When running additional payroll for the purpose of a bonus or any other, there's no additional fee.  As noted in our plans and pricing, you pay monthly and not per pay run.  I hope you find this to be helpful!
