Hi there Theressa,

Accessing a sample company or test account is a great way to play around in QuickBooks Online to explore the the exciting features you'll have access to. It's also the perfect way to test out the additional tools you'll have as a ProAdvisor using QBOA before you've connected with any client accounts. I'm more than happy to show you how you can access a sample company.

From within your QuickBooks Online Accountant firm, select the Gear icon, then click Sample company - you'll find it under Your Company. You'll get a prompt asking if you'd like to Open sample company to which you'll want to select Continue if you do. It's as easy as that.

If you're looking to connect your clients with a sample company that they can explore before deciding if QuickBooks Online is the right fit for their company, we also have a QBO Plus Test drive account that's available in both French and English. For more on that, including the links you can share with your clients, refer to the article below:

Let me know if there's anything else you need help with. It's what I'm here for!

I'm in Accountant View of a level 3 QBO subscription.

I don't see Sample Company under Your Company.

Is QBOA a different subscription type from QBO?

Thi there thepessismist,

Thank you for contacting us about your QuickBooks Online account. It's a great tool able to have accountant users added so that they can help you with your books. I can provide some information about QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Online Accountant.

Indeed, QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Online Accountant are two different plans. QuickBooks Online Accountant is a version designed for accounting professionals to be able to connect to all their clients QuickBooks Online subscriptions to help access their books so they can assist in making sure all accounts are well balanced. If you have a QuickBooks Online subscription, that would be the reason you wouldn't see the sample company option. I can see that this would be a feature that you'd like to see added to QuickBooks Online. I recommend leaving feedback in the system by clicking on the Gear icon, then Feedback. The comments made in that section are taken into consideration by our developers when designing new features for the program.
