Question

Why did the net pay still include the advance that had been taken previous to issuing payroll when it had been included in payroll deductions?

Hey ampedelectric,

Setting up an advance pay item is a great way to deduct an amount you already paid your employee from their pay cheque, while still calculating the necessary taxes and deductions. Due to the nature of payroll, it's important for everything to be recorded perfectly.  For this reason, I recommend choosing from one of the following methods to get in touch with an agent. They'll be able to take a look to determine how this needs to be recorded to have the correct deduction and tax amounts.
