Why is the "Send to employee" tab unavailable when wanting to send T4's to employees electronically?

Hi, Jodi. Let me share with you some information about sending T4s to your employees electronically.

The Send to employee tab is available once you've invited your employees to see their pay stubs and T4s/Relevé-1s in Workforce. If you haven't yet, then it's the reason why the tab is unavailable. 

To isolate the issue, you can invite your employees to Workforce following these steps:

1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.
2. Click on Employees at the left pane, then select the employee you want to invite.
3. Select Edit, then the Pay tab.
4. Enter the employee's email address and check Invite this employee to view their pay stubs online. 
5. Hit Done. Your employee will receive an invitation by email. Once your employee accepts the invitation and logs into Workforce they are ready to receive their T4 slip.
6. Repeat the same steps for other employees.

Once done, you're now ready to send T4s to your employees.

1. Click on Taxes, then Payroll Tax.
2. Tap on the Filings tab, then Year-end forms.
3. Select Employee copy of T4 slip.
4. Hit View. Another tab will open with the PDF version of the T4 slip.
5. If the T4 slip is correct, select Send to employee on the T4 slip for employee page.
