With QB online, how do i get the new 2021 payroll update for taxes?

I hope you are enjoying the holiday season so far! When it comes to updates in QuickBooks Online or QuickBooks Online Accountant, they are usually done automatically within the product.

I know QBO subscriptions come in groups and so they will do something called the "Roll Out" method of a new feature or upgrade.

So if you heard or saw a new feature coming out but haven't seen it as of yet, I would give it some time, it could be that it hasn't been fully rolled out to all QBO users as of yet.

Since the program exists in the cloud via an Internet connection, all it takes is our product team coding these sorts of updates and then loading them into the program. There are no extra steps you need to take.

 

Our team is set to release the new tables early in the new year so that you can get to work running payrolls for 2021 as soon as possible. With updates like tax table updates, there typically isn't a roll out like Lourdes describes since it's a vital part of payroll, but it'll become available to users shortly. I don't have an exact date I can share with you, but rest assured that our team is on the job of releasing this update.
