Wrong date on my paycheque

My employer put the wrong date period on one of my paycheques, the direct deposit has been paid but the pay period that is posted needs to be changed. How would my employer change the date on this paycheque that has been processed already? I am in Canada. Thank you

Hi Dwar

Are you looking for the labour expense to show up in the correct month?

If this is the case, here's what you do.

Find the journal posting for the payroll that includes the payment piece, and update it instead of to the Wages Expense, to a 'Prepaid/Payroll' asset account, then create a second journal which zeroes out the prepaid and moves it to the Wages expense.

Thanks for reaching out here.  Welcome!  QuickBooks Online Payroll is a great feature that allows you to access your paystubs and tax forms effortlessly.  I can see how having an incorrect date on your pay can be concerning.  I'd be happy to steer you in the right direction!

 

In order for any corrections to be applied to your pay stub, I recommend reaching out to your Employer directly.  They'll need to contact us to assist with the necessary changes to ensure the payroll information is accurate and correctly applied.
