How to reconcile prior years bank accounts of the current year was already reconciled? Is that possible?

Yes, it's possible to reconcile prior years of your bank transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO), @jenna-pasion-toa. Let me guide you how.

Reconciling your prior years bank accounts lets you check the accuracy of all your transactions. Doing this in QuickBooks will make sure they match your real-life accounts.

You can either reconcile your prior years' accounts month-by-month or yearly. Both processes will ensure your opening and ending balances are correct. However, just to give you a heads up that this might affect your current year's account balances. With this, I'd also recommend consulting your accountant to further guide you with the process and monitor your books.

Just a tip, you can use the Funnel icon in the Reconciliation page to easily filter your transactions by date. Please see the screenshot below.

Once ready, here's how:

1. Go to the Gear icon.
2. Select Reconcile.
3. From the Account drop-down menu, choose the appropriate bank account.
4. Confirm that the beginning balance on your statement matches the ones on screen.
5. Enter the statement Ending balance and Ending date.
6. Input all the necessary details needed.
7. Click Start reconciling.
8. On the Reconciliation page, compare the transactions on your statement and the ones on the screen.
9. When the amount in the Difference section is zero, click the Save for later drop-down arrow and select Finish now.
