Question

Bulk update expenses entered by a past employee who used the subtotal rather than the actual total and now the tax calculation is off.

Is it possible to automatically update all of these past entries, there are close to a thousand. Or do we need to do it by hand?

Hello invalidmemory,

It's great to have you connect with us here in the Community. I can see the benefit of being able to bulk edit the transactions and I'll be happy to share more info. QuickBooks offers a robust platform that makes it easy to manage your work.

You'll have to manually edit the transactions in question since there isn't a way to bulk edit transactions in QuickBooks. I can see the benefit of having this feature and I recommend sending this as feedback to our engineers. You can send feedback by clicking the Gear icon and navigating to Feedback. In the meantime, I recommend looking into third-party apps that can help you with this. You're more than welcome to search for third-party apps on our site using this link here.

Let me know if this info helps. I'll be on standby in case you need anything else.
