Question

Does any notice that the app is never fully synced properly. My expenses are always off. Is there a fix?

Hello there and thanks for joining us here in the QuickBooks Community!

Both the QuickBooks Online mobile app and desktop app are great additions to using QuickBooks Online in your internet browser. The mobile app allows for easier bookkeeping while on-the-go and the desktop app gives you access to your books at the touch of a button. It's important that you're experiencing both of these apps at their full functionality, so let me give you some tips on how to get things running smoothly again.

If you're using the QuickBooks Online app for Windows or Mac, the first thing you should do is ensure that your computer meets the system requirements. You'll need either Windows 7, 8.1, or 10, or Mac OS X 10.11, 10.10, or 10.9. The rest of the system requirements can be found in the article below. Once you're sure you meet the system requirements, you can try clearing the app cache by navigating to the Help button, then choosing to Reset App Data. Similarly to using QuickBooks in your internet browser, the images and files stored in the app's cache can cause issues with the way the program runs. Clearing it often helps ensure things are running smoothly and as expected.

With both the desktop app and the mobile app, uninstalling and reinstalling are both highly successful troubleshooting options. Since your data is stored online, when you reinstall the app and sign back in, all of your data will be restored and you won't lose a thing in the process. The steps to uninstall the desktop app can be found in the article shared above. If you'd like to try a few additional troubleshooting methods before uninstalling the app from your mobile device, you can give the steps in this article a try: Troubleshooting Quick-Start Guide for the QuickBooks Online app.

If these tips still don't quite do the trick, you still have the option to use QuickBooks Online within your computer or mobile device's internet browser. Don't hesitate to reach out again if the issue persists or isn't resolved by the above steps - it might be something that our engineers need to look into, and we'd like to be able to gather more details from you if necessary. You can reach out here in the Community, but if sensitive account details are involved, reaching out at one of the methods below will work best.
