Hey there frierag,

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community and thanks for choosing QuickBooks Online to manage your business's books! The program is designed to keep your bookkeeping simple, and I can see how disappearing accounts and the inability to edit certain things might complicate that. I'm here to help.

With more details about exactly what's going on and what you mean by not being able to edit the part, I'm confident we can help you get back on track. I'll start you off with some troubleshooting to make sure that things like the cache, browser, app, and Internet aren't the culprits here and share our contact details below.

Give those a shot and after each, check back with your expense accounts and whatever you're trying to edit to see if there's any change. Since QuickBooks Online uses the cloud to operate, these simple things can sometimes cause the program to behave strangely and going through these options helps sort that out. If you're still running into the same issues, however, that's where support can step in.

By having a one-on-one conversation with a member of our team, you'll be able to go into detail about what's going on, and the agent can use tools like a screen share or the option to accept screenshots to see what you're seeing. Pick whichever contact method works best for you.

Schedule a Callback or Chat: click (?)Help in the upper right > type and enter "Contact support" into the QB Assistant > click Contact Us > explain your situation > click Let's Talk > choose Get a callback or Start a Chat. Support is available from Monday to Friday between 9 a.m. and 8 p.m. ET.
