When loading my expense receipts into quickbooks it makes my amounts more and is difficult to split because amounts then differ. Is there a setting I need to adjust?

Hi DKP2,

Welcome to the QuickBooks Community forum, and thanks for taking a moment to describe what's happening in your QuickBooks Online account when you use the Receipts feature to upload your expenses. I want to ensure that this feature if working correctly for you so you can benefit from how it can positively impact your workflow.

The Receipts feature is designed to take the details from the image you capture, email, or upload into the program so that you can more easily create a transaction from it and automatically have the image attached. It doesn't always get all of the details, which means filling in some of the blanks, but that's an easy enough task. I appreciate how the amounts being regularly off though would cause issues, including with trying to split the transaction afterward.

The first steps I recommend for you are to clear the cache if you're using a browser or the app for Windows/Mac or to uninstall and reinstall the mobile app if that's what you're using. These steps ensure that there isn't any temporary data causing problems and, for the mobile app, that you're on the latest release of the app. Sometimes strange behaviours like you're seeing can be caused by things like that, so it's good to take these troubleshooting steps to rule them out. Once you've completed those steps, try loading in a receipt again to see if the same thing happens.

If those don't do the trick, seeing what you're seeing will help with finding a resolution to this situation. For that reason, I suggest contacting the QuickBooks Online support team by phone, chat, or social media. Here are those options.

Schedule a Callback or start a Chat: click (?)Help in the upper right > type and enter "Contact support" into the QB Assistant > click Contact Us > explain your situation > click Let's Talk > choose Get a callback or Start a Chat.
