Hello diane-ringuette1,

It's great to have you back with us again! The bank feed in QuickBooks Online can be a time-saver when it comes to entering your transactions in your books. I know that sometimes duplicate transactions arise for various reasons and I want to make sure that you're minimizing those instances and can resolve the current situation. I'll walk you through it.

The best way to avoid duplicate transactions when you're entering information from the bank feed is to make sure your Matching or Excluding transactions from the feed that are already in the account. Most of the time, it's a simple matter of matching the transactions, but occasionally you may choose to exclude them instead. Here's an article that go over all of the options for this feature: Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online

Since you have duplicates in your bank's GL, it sounds like the transactions may have been Added instead. Don't worry, you can undo that action and then match or exclude the transaction as desired. Here's how.

  1. Click the Banking tab in the left menu.
  2. Select the Reviewed tab.
  3. Click Undo in the Action column for the transaction you don't need.
  4. To undo several, check off the appropriate transactions, then click the Undo button above the Date column.

This will put the transactions back in the For Review section, where you can match or exclude as needed. If you're having trouble matching, consider things such as the date range and other details about the transaction. The program looks for these kind of specifics when looking for a match.

If the transactions seem to have been added automatically from the feed, consider any Banking Rules you have set up that may have caused that. There's more information about that here: How to set and use banking rules for downloaded transactions

Give that a shot and let me know how it goes!
