How do I adjust the time frame that software chooses to sign me out. I worked for 30 minutes on term in an estimate, when I hit save it signed me out and I lost all work

Losing the work you've put in is never good. I'm happy to go over this with you so you can extend  your active account time and help you make sure you don't lose any further data.

 

Changing the time-out period is easy and I also have a quick tip for you. Let's start with changing the time-out period.

 

  1. Select the Gear icon.
  2. Choose Account and Settings.
  3. Click Advanced.
  4. Find the Other preferences section and click the pencil icon to edit.
  5. Select the timeframe you'd like from the Sign me out if inactive for drop-down menu.
  6. Hit Save.

Now that you've got a longer time period, here's my quick tip. When you're working on transactions and entering information, hit Save on the form periodically. I recommend this because the program doesn't always pick up data entry on transactions as activity. This will help ensure that you don't lose any data.
