How do i reverse a stale dated cheque

A component of the cheque includes GST which has subsequently been paid to CRA

A Stale Dated check is offset by a Deposit to a Liability account, so that the Replacement Check pays out that same Liability. The Deposit and the old check clear against each other next reconciliation to Net 0.

How do I offset the HST with the Deposit scenario? It is a closed and report period.
