Hey wchristina8107,

QuickBooks Online is designed to simplify your bookkeeping, so you can focus on running your business. There's a variety of powerful features at your fingertips, which can easily be customized to suit your specific business needs. I'll be happy to help you track EHF in your books.

Environmental handling fees can easily be created in your products and services list to include on future invoices. This provides full control over the mapping, as you're able to select any account type as an income account. It's just a few simple steps to get started:

  1. Click the Gear icon then select Products and Services.
  2. Click the New button and choose Service.
  3. Fill in the correct details on the following fields:
Name: Enter a name for the fee, for example, EHF.
Income account: Choose the correct account. You aren't limited to just revenue accounts; you can easily select an asset or liability account.
  4. Click Save and close.

To ensure proper tracking, it's crucial to select the appropriate income account. Selecting the incorrect account type could cause incorrect information on your reports. If you're unsure which type of income account to select, your accountant is the best person to help. You can easily invite your accountant as a user to approach this together. To search for a pro in your area, simply head to the My Accountant tab in QuickBooks Online then click on Find a pro to help.

If this was regarding a different type of EHF, please reach out to an agent using one of the options below. They'll be happy to help you set this up.
