How do I track the usage of raw materials during the manufacturing stages? And, is there Bill of Material functionality?

For example: I can record the purchase of lemons. I can record the sale of lemon juice. But can I record the use of the lemons to make the juice? I may need to order more lemons.

Thanks for joining us in the Community. You raise a great question, and you've come to the right place for answers. I'd be happy to explain further the extent of the inventory feature in QuickBooks Online. 

 

QuickBooks Online can only track the purchase and sale of goods. At this time, you're unable to track the manufacturing steps, such as tracking the use of lemons to make lemon juice (as per your example). I can see how this would be a great addition to the program, and how it would make the inventory tool more advanced. I'd be happy to pass this idea along to the right people. 

 

In the meantime, I recommend looking into the variety of third-party apps you can integrate with your QuickBooks Online account. Take a look at the inventory tracking apps here: Track Inventory - Apps. Perhaps there's an application that would suit your needs.
