Question

I have opened a savings account. My business expenses are now being reviewed within that account instead of the chequing account. How do I get it to revert?

Hi there,

Syncing your bank accounts to QuickBooks Online is an awesome way to save time and effort with your bookkeeping. I know how important it is to ensure you're reviewing the right bank account. If you currently have your chequing account connected to QBO and you need to connect your savings account instead, you can do this in a few simple steps. I'll explain further below.

The first step is going to be to disconnect your chequing account. I'd recommend waiting until the account has been properly reconciled, so that you're not left with an incorrect balance or discrepancy in your books. Once your business transactions are no longer flowing through that account, you can disconnect it by clicking the Banking tab on the left navigation menu, then click the small pencil icon next to the chequing account. Next, click Edit Account Info, then check off the box that says "Disconnect this account on save".

Once disconnected, you can sync your savings account to the bank feed by following the steps here: Connect bank and credit card accounts to QuickBooks Online.

This should help get you back on track. If you have any other questions, please reach out to our tech support team.

Have a great weekend.
