Hi there,

Recording Payments from your customers is one of the most exciting parts of running your small business, because it means you've gotten paid! QuickBooks Online makes it easy for you to record the payment, and select different payment methods.

If you're unsure what date to allocate to the payment, don't worry. There's no wrong or right way to do this in the system. The important thing is that you're choosing the option that's best for you and your business bookkeeping. If you're not sure whether to select the date on the cheque versus the date the payment is posted to QuickBooks, ask your accountant.

If you're not yet connected to an accountant, I recommend reaching out to one in your area here: Find a ProAdvisor. The great thing about the ProAdvisor program is that all of these accountants are trained in QuickBooks. They'll help you get back on track.
