Previously wrote cheque and did expense in quick books to cover a tournament. we cancelled out of tourney so they sent us a cheque as a refund. how do i record as credi

I can definitely help you with getting your expense refund recorded in QuickBooks Online. Although you mention recording a credit, I do see as well that you say they sent you a cheque refund, so recording the refund would be better in this instance since you received the money back. Recording a credit alone would be used if they're saying they'll hold on to the funds for you to apply to a future tournament or other transaction.
