starting with out a bank account hooked up

In QuickBooks Online you can add an account in your chart of accounts and enter an opening balance, and then manually upload your transactions with a specified starting date.  This will allow you to manage and reconcile your accounts seamlessly.  Here's a helpful guide to have on hand when you're ready to get started with manually uploading your transactions.
