When I am entering a new expense and I save, the previously entered expenses are duplicating

Welcome to the Community! QuickBooks Online makes it fun and simple to manage your business. I can help shed some light on what might be happening with these expenses that you're entering. 

 

In QuickBooks Online, there are several automation features meant to streamline the entry of data. One of these features is the Pre-fill forms with previously entered content feature. It sounds like there could be some sort of glitch occurring that's causing the system to duplicate the previously entered expenses, so the first thing I suggest is making sure the pre-fill option is turned off. Here's how to check this setting: 

 

  • Navigate to the Gear icon, then click Account and Settings
  • Go to the Advanced tab, then scroll down to the Automation section. 
  • Ensure that the Pre-fill forms with previously entered content option is toggled to off
  • Once you're finished, click Save, then Done

 

If this setting is already off, the duplication could be a performance issue caused by a build up of cache and other data within your internet browser. I recommend trying the following troubleshooting steps, checking between each to see if the issue is resolved:
