Hey lrenka,

It's great that you're including detailed categories to keep track of your expenses. This ensures you'll have a detailed Profit and Loss report showing an accurate breakdown of where your money is going, and unlocks the powerful budgeting feature in QuickBooks Online. Transaction lists are able to show the associated category, and allow you to quickly change it if needed. I'll be happy to help you with -Split- transactions, and show you how this is handled in QuickBooks.

Transactions that appear as -Split- are generally just transactions with multiple lines (even if it's the same account). It indicates that the total amount of the transaction consists of separate elements that cannot be displayed in a single field. If you head to your Expenses tab and select Expenses, you'll notice that transactions that display a specific Category also display a drop-down menu. This allows you to quickly re-categorize these transactions without needing to manually open, edit, then save each one. It's time-saving feature that can be used for simple transactions, and is possible for all transactions except the ones appearing as -Split-. To see a specific Category for your expenses, make sure the transaction consists of a single line.

Hope this clears things up! Let me know if there's anything else I can help with.
