I'll guide you on how to categorise sales in QuickBooks.
In QuickBooks Online (QBO), categories are used to classify products and services (usually represented by items) your company sells to customers.
For now, there are only three types of products and services that you can choose that includes inventory products, non-inventory products, and services.
You'll want to edit each item one at a time if you want to change the type on the Product and services page. To do so, you can follow the steps outlined below:
- Go to the Gear icon, then select the Product and services page.
- Click Edit under the Action column.
- Click the Change type option if you want to change the information. Then select the correct type.
- Enter the necessary information.
- Click Save and close.
