Question

How do I add a secondary sales price for each product? It's not a simple discount or change from our primary sales price/rate.

I'll share some insights about adding a secondary sales price for each product in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Yixin.

Please know that the option to add another sales price isn't available in QuickBooks. As a workaround, we can create a new product with a different name. QBO doesn't allow us to use the same product name more than once. Otherwise, you'll be prompted by the error message as seen in the image below. When that happens, creating a new entry with a unique name is the way to go. See the screenshot below for your reference.

You can enter the same product name and add characters to it. After entering the secondary sales price and the necessary details, always remember to Save and Close.

I can see the importance of having the ability that will allow you to add a secondary sales price without having to create a new product. As a valued QuickBooks customer, I'd love to have your suggestion about the enhancements you'd want to see in QuickBooks. I recommend sending feedback directly to our product developers. They can review your suggestions and consider adding them in future releases.

Here's how:

  1. Hit the Gear icon at the top, then select Feedback.
  2. Type in your product suggestions.
  3. Click Next to submit feedback.

While waiting, you can keep track of your requests by visiting this link: QuickBooks Online Feature Requests.

Moreover, you can run basic reports in QuickBooks to look at different aspects of your business.

I'll be here to continue helping if you have follow-up questions about adding the sales price of each product in QuickBooks. Assistance is just a post away.

What kind of business do you run? A wholesaler?

Yes, wholesale, and some retail. Prices for the latter are what I want to add.

Consider having a 3rd party inventory management app with B2B feature to integrate with QBO.
