Question

How do I"turn on" gst? The company has been running for 9 months and has recently registered, I need to backdate it.

Is it as simple as changing the default tax code from out of scope to gst exclusive? Or will I need to start a new company file? Not sure if relevant, but company is a non profit charity.

I can show you the steps in setting up your taxes, richardlambert.

 

Yes, you can edit the start of the tax period and enter the TIN registered number. Let me show you how: 

 

  1. Go to the Taxes menu and click Setup GST if it's you're first time turning it on.
  2. If you already initially set up GST, you can click Edit GST at the upper-right.
  3. Click Edit settings and update the changes. 
  4. Then, Save.
