Question

Can I delete customer from accountant profile. I have to delete 2 customers on my profile. I marked them as not active, but can not delete. I must not be charged?

Welcome to the Community, @pieter1.

 

You can only make a customer inactive in QuickBooks Online Accountant (QBOA). However, this will only hide the customer on the list.

 

To make sure that charges won't be a charge for you, you'll want to transfer the billing to your client. Let me guide you how.

 

First off, you'll have to make your client active again. Here's how:

 

  1. Click Clients, then select All Clients drop-down.
  2. Select the client you want to make active.
  3. Choose Edit client drop-down and Make active.
  4. Click Yes to confirm.

Once done, you can now transfer the billing to your client.

 

  1. Click the Gear icon, then select Subscriptions & Billing.
  2. Select the clients you want to remove.
  3. Choose the Transfer billing to client option from the Batch Actions drop-down.
  4. Click Remove.

The client will not pay it.

 

This profile will never be used again.

 

Please delete it completely from QBO!!!!!

Thanks for posting here, @Leoney. I'm here to guide you with the steps in deleting a client in your QuickBooks Online Accountant (QBOA) account. 

 

You can easily do this if you're the primary admin of the account. Once a client is deleted, you'll lose all access to their company. Here's how:

 

  1. If you're the primary admin of your client's company, ensure to assign them as the new primary admin.
  2. If they are part of your wholesale discount plan, remove them from it. They'll get full access to their accounts after they update their billing info.
  3. Once done, log in to QuickBooks Online Accountant as an admin.
  4. Next, click the Clients menu.
  5. From there, find the client you want to delete and select their name.
  6. Then, in the Edit client dropdown, choose Delete permanently.
  7. Select Yes to confirm.
