Hi there, maria.

Yes, QuickBooks has the option to automatically apply credits to future invoices. Here are the steps you can follow.

  1. Go to Settings ⚙ and select Account and settings.
  2. Proceed to the Advanced tab.
  3. Click Edit ✎ in the Automation section.
  4. Mark Automatically apply credits.
  5. Select Save, then Done.

I'm adding this link to learn more about the process: Create and apply credit notes or delayed credits in QuickBooks Online. It provides instructions and detailed steps.

For unallocated invoices, you can run the Accounts receivable ageing detail report. It shows which customers have past due balances and how long each transaction is past due.

Please refer to this article to get the data that you need: Learn how to create and customise accounts receivable ageing reports in QuickBooks Online. Once you have the report, you can export it to an Excel file and provide it to your client.

Don't hesitate to post again if you have additional questions about allocating credits to invoices. I'm always right here to help you.
