Question

For the last few days when I add a new service when making out an invoice or quote, it does not fill it in properly as it usually does. I have to restart Quickbooks!

It has happened to me for the last week. Not every time, but often enough to make it irritating as have to start all over again. The service I put in is there, it just doesn't add all the info like description, price, tax. have to restart Quickbooks and this is time consuming. Very irritating

I see where you're coming from, @shakui1

Let's perform some troubleshooting steps so you can get your service items' info to fill out your invoices and quotes properly in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Based on your description, you may have a browser cache-related issue in your account. Your browser saves files to load websites faster on your next visit. But over time, it'll get outdated, which can cause performance issues using QBO.

To fix this, you can perform some troubleshooting steps. Start by pulling up your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account using a private browser (incognito). Here's how:

  • Press Ctrl Shift (Google Chrome)
  • Ctrl Shift (Firefox)
  • Control Option (Safari)

Once signed in, go to the + New button and create an invoice or a quote, then add the new service item.

If you're able to do so, return to your default browser and clear its cache. This will refresh the system and remove older data that causes viewing and performance issues. However, if this matter continues, I'd recommend using other supported browsers.

Also, you may want to check out one of our Help pages as your reference to guide you in managing your company's growth and transactions using QBO: QuickBooks Learn and Support. It includes help articles, Community discussions with other users, and video tutorials, to name a few.

Let me know if you have other concerns about managing invoices and income transactions in QBO. I'll gladly help. Take care, and I wish you continued success, @shakui1
