Thank you for taking the time to visit the Community, wendylumsden123. I'd like to point us to the right direction to resolve this runtime error.

That behavior is very unusual. Multicurrency isn't required when updating account types in QuickBooks Online.

Let's perform some troubleshooting procedures to isolate the problem. Your browser saves temporary files to load websites faster on your next visit. But over time, it also gets outdated and corrupted which can cause problems in QBO. You can start by accessing your QuickBooks company through a private browser using these shortcuts:

  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari: Command + Option + P

If you're able to successfully update the accounts, close the incognito window and then go back to the regular browser. Next, clear the cache to remove the outdated webpage content. You may also use another browser as an alternative solution.

Finally, I recommend visiting our FAQ page to learn about more about the different account types and detail types in QuickBooks Online
