I have create an account in Chart of Account, but wish to change the name, account type and detail type. How do I do this?

I've got you the steps to rename your account in QuickBooks. Please know that editing the Detail, and Account type may affect your accounting and reporting. 

Here's how to rename an account: 

1. Go to the Accounting menu, then select Chart of Accounts.
2. Find the account you want to modify and click the drop-down arrow next to the View register link.
3. Select Run Report, then click Edit. 
4. Update the name of the account.
5. Click Save and Close. 

To change the Detail and Account type: 

1. Go back to the Chart of Accounts from the Accounting menu. 
2. Find the account you want to modify and click the drop-down arrow next to the View register link.
3. Click Edit.
4. In the Account window, choose the Detail Type from the drop-down list.
5. Click Save and Close.
