Question

QB is preparing my invoice in a portrait format .How do i get QB to prepare my invoices in a landscape format? I want a landscape PDF invoice to print out.

Warm greetings, sales-thesweet. I see the advantage of having the option to print out invoices in a landscape format.

 

By default, when you print an invoice, QuickBooks uses the portrait orientation. There's no direct feature to change the format to landscape.

In the meantime, you can manually change the orientation settings of your printer so you can view your printed invoices in a landscape view.


Here's how:

 

  1. Locate and open your invoices, then click Print or Preview. 
  2. Select the Print icon and click More settings. 
  3. Click the arrow in the Print using system dialog or (Ctrl+Shift+P) and select a printer
  4. In the Orientation section, select Landscape. 
  5. Once done, hit Print.

There is no step 5 as per your screenshot on my Quickbooks online .

i.e there is no option to choose landscape .

I understand that you are facing difficulty in finding the layout options for modifying the invoice. There could be several reasons for this issue. One could be the browser you're using or the printing preference configured to your device. 

 

The steps outlined by my colleague above are for the Google Chrome browser. If you are trying to modify the invoice layout using this browser and can't find the layout option after performing the steps above, there is still a way for you to change its layout. Once you click the Print using system dialog or (Ctrl+Shift+P), you'll need to select the printer, then click the Preferences. Afterward, you can now choose the layout you prefer. You can also refer to the image below:

 

 

Moreover, you may also consider trying other supported browsers to change the layout of your invoices. For instance, if you have a Microsoft Edge browser, you can follow the steps below for guidance:

 

  1. Locate and open your invoices, then click Print or Preview. 
  2. Select the Print icon, then select Landscape in the Layout section in the left navigation menu.
  3. Once done, click Print to complete the process.
