Hi, spllcoffice1. To record the $1000 transfer from your main account to a new checking account in QuickBooks Online (QBO), we will go ahead and record it in the Transfer section. I'd be glad to walk you through the process.

To document a funds transfer, follow these steps:

    1. Click on + New.
    2. Select Transfer.
    3. From the Transfer Funds From the dropdown, choose the bank account the money is being transferred.
    4. Select the receiving bank account from the Transfer Funds To dropdown list.
    5. In the Transfer Amount field, input the amount to be transferred.
    6. Adjust the Date field as needed.
    7. Click Save and Close or Save and New to finalize the transfer.
    8. Confirm the transaction by selecting Yes once you have double-checked the date.

If you transferred actual funds, and  that's what you set for the opening balance in your account. We highly suggest transferring funds and then adding a memo as an Opening balance. Since the opening balance is considered reconciled, you can mark it reconciled (R).
