I understand your want to enter a discount on an individual item when creating an estimate, ken.

I've got a couple of details and a workaround to share with you about this.

Right now, you can only enter a discount for the total estimate amount. Alternatively, you can create a discount item and manually apply the discount to the estimate. Here's how you can do it:

  1. Open the Sales menu.
  2. Select Estimates.
  3. Choose a customer from the Customer dropdown.
  4. If the work has already started, click a status from the Pending ▼ dropdown. This is optional.
  5. Set the Estimate date and the Expiration date.
  6. Fill in with the products and services you plan to sell.
  7. Enter another line item for the discount and use a negative amount to deduct it from the item's original amount.
  8. Fill out any other needed fields.
  9. Once done, click on Save and close.
