Hi there, @opus1956.

Yes, you can export a chart of accounts in QuickBooks Online. I'll walk you through the steps to accomplish this.

The listing of accounts in the Chart of Accounts does not allow the exporting feature. However, one of your list reports is designed to display your accounts in the chart of accounts format.

Let's customize your Account List report to remove columns you do not need. Then export the report into a new Excel file. To do so:

  1. Go to Reports.
  2. Enter Account List in the Filter report by name field.
  3. Open the report displayed in the suggestions.
  4. Select the Gear icon.
  5. Remove or add the columns you desire.
  6. Click Export to Excel.

Kindly read and use this article to learn more about exporting a report to excel; Export Reports to Excel from QuickBooks Online.

I've also included this reference that'll help you understand your account and its transaction history which breaks down how much money you have or owe: The Chart of Accounts in QuickBooks.

Let me know in the comments below using the Reply button if you've got questions other than exporting your list of accounts. I'll be here ready to lend a helping hand.
