Good day, @tina-parami-ai. I’d like to help give you some insight on this.

Generating customer ID in QuickBooks is unavailable. As a workaround, you can manually enter the customer's ID in the Other column. Let me guide you how:

  1. Go to the Sales menu at the left panel, then pick the Customers tab.
  2. Choose a customer, then on the Customer Details tab, click Edit.
  3. In the Other column enter the customer's ID.
  4. Once done, hit Save.

If you're still about to create another customer, you can add some special characters before or after their names. To learn more about managing customers in QBO, please refer to this article: Add and manage customers in QuickBooks Online.

I'm attaching these articles that tackle creating invoices and receiving customers payments for future reference:

I'm just a comment away if you have other concerns or questions with QuickBooks. I'll be right here to answer them. Take care, @tina-parami-ai.
