Question

Can QB online create a chart of accounts dedicated to the non-profit ? The desktop version does it but didn't find the same in the online version. Thanks a lot.

I'll share some insights about non-profits in QuickBooks Online (QBO), Nakk.

Currently, the option to create a chart of accounts specific to non-profits is unavailable in QBO. As a workaround, we can configure your account for a non-profit organization.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and select Account and Settings.
  2. Click Advanced.
  3. Select Edit in the Company type.
  4. Click the Tax form ▼ dropdown, then choose Nonprofit Organization (Form 990).
  5. Select Save, then Done.

I've added this article that will guide you on how to manage an account for a nonprofit organization: How Nonprofit Organizations Use QuickBooks Online.

I'll be right here if you have follow-up questions or concerns with the non-profit account. Don't hesitate to reply. Take care and have a good one.
