Can you help me with capturing o/b in forex. My base currency is Dirhms. But if we are capturing opening balances in Dirhms and makes pmnt frm Euro/USD it gives error.

Base currency Dirhams. Supplier O/B is in Dirhams but payment made from Euro A/c. Its giving error. Pls advise

I can share some information about receiving payment in other currencies in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

 

We can only save one home and one foreign currency each transaction.  We’ll first have to create a new dummy bank account in the home currency to facilitate the movement between 2 different foreign currencies.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then select Chart of Accounts
  2. Select New
  3. Under the Account Type column, select Cash and cash equivalent. Under the Detail Type column, pick Cash on hand. And under the Name column, type in Dummy Bank
  4. Before saving and closing, make sure that it is set to your home currency (for example Euro or whatever is your home currency).
