Question

Does the cashflow trend chart consider only 1 bank acc i.e home currency bank acc? Eg 0 money in last month in the chart but we received 500k in foreign currency bank acc

I need to see the cashflow trend chart reporting all the cash in and cash out since my CEO looks at in his login. The cashflow statement is correct but the chart in the dashboard is not

Let’s take a closer look, Simran, at how QuickBooks Online handles your cash flow tracking. I'll provide more details on how it calculates your cash flow.

The cash flow chart in QuickBooks Online provides a real-time financial overview, mapping the strategic flow of money through your business ecosystem using historical data from your connected bank accounts in QBO. However, the chart does not include certain transactions, such as:

  • Credit card transactions
  • Transactions you've entered manually into QuickBooks
  • Multicurrency transactions

Yes, the cash flow trend chart considers only one currency, your home currency. However, you can run reports that show your transactions, including those in multiple currencies. You can run the reports suggested in the MONEY IN and MONEY OUT sections by clicking the View reports dropdown.

Additionally, you can also run the Transaction Detail by Account report if you wish to view all the transactions including those with multi-currencies.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Reports, then look for Transactions Detail by Account in the Search box.
  2. Click the Customize button.
  3. Click the Change columns link.

  4. Check the Currency and Foreign Amount.
  5. Once done, click Run report.

Please see the photo below for visual reference after running the report.

If you want to view this report without signing into QuickBooks Online later, you can export it. For easy steps on how to do this, check out this useful guide: Export your QuickBooks Online data.
