Question

Hello! we need to add a registration number to our customer details. How can I add an additional field to the customer information that would also appear on invoices?

Thank you for reaching out, jurists. I can assist you in adding the registration number to your customers' invoices.

Adding custom fields to customer information is available in QBO Advanced versions only. With QuickBooks International and other versions, you'll need to create custom fields for your invoices and manually input the registration number each time you track your entries.

To start:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then select Custom fields.
  2. Tap on the Add field menu.
  3. Enter the Name, then mark on All Sales forms.
  4. Hit Save.

While this is the current option, you can proactively send a feature request directly to our product developers. This way, they can evaluate the possibility of incorporating this in future updates.

To start:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then Feedback.
  2. Enter your comments or product suggestions.
  3. Tap Next to submit.

Once done, your valuable suggestion goes to our Product Development team to help improve your QBO experience. You can track feature requests through the QuickBooks Online Feature Requests website.

On the other hand, you can run through the details from this link for more tips while working with your invoices in our system: Create invoices in QuickBooks Online.

Additionally, QuickBooks gives you the tools to create personalised and professional-looking invoices, estimates, and sales receipts. You can learn more about it from this link: Customise invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online.
