Hello there, @finance130.

At this time, a current asset isn't an option in QuickBooks Online when selecting a Detail Type of your credit card account.

To give you the proper advice on what would be the accurate detail type to be used aside from the current asset, I recommend consulting your accountant. They'll be able to provide you the best course of action for your business.

Once you already have the detail type, you can now add your credit card in the Chart of Accounts by following these steps:

  1. Click on the Gear icon at the top.
  2. Select on Chart of Accounts under Your Company.
  3. Hit on New to create a new account.
  4. In the Account Type ▼ drop-down menu choose an account type.
  5. In the Detail Type ▼ drop-down, select the detail type that best fits types of transactions you want to track.
  6. Enter the account a name.
  7. Add a description.
  8. If you’re adding a sub-account, select Is sub-account and then enter the parent account.
  9. Choose when you want to start tracking your finances. In the Unpaid Balance field, enter the amount in the account, and determine the as of date. Enter today's date if you want to start tracking immediately.
  10. Select Save and Close

You can also add accounts when recording a cheque, bill, or other transactions in QBO. Just select  in the Category column of the transaction that you're working with then + Add new. Please see the sample snip attached for your reference in this process:
