Hi, I am wondering for my QuickBooks online, that is it possible to give discount through item? I can’t find it.

Yes, it's possible and I have the way on how you can achieve this. We need to create an item for the discount by following these steps:

1. On the left panel, click Sales > Product and Services.
2. Click New and select Non-inventory or Service for the type.
3. Enter a discount name in the Name field.
4. In the Sales price/rate field, enter the discount as a negative amount.
5. From the Income account drop-down menu, select the Discount given account.
6. Hit Save and close.

Once done, you can create the invoice or sales receipt and add the discount item.

1. Click + New > Invoice or Sales Receipt.
2. Select the customer's name from the drop-down menu.
3. In the first line, add the product or service you are selling. Then add the Discount item you just created on the second line.
4. Fill in the other necessary field.
5. When you’re ready, hit Save and close or Save and new.

If you want to add the discount as percentage or specific amount, you can follow these steps to enable the feature: 

1. Go to the Gear > Account and Settings.
2. On the left panel, click the Sales tab.
3. In the Sales form content section, select the toggle icon to enable the Discount feature.
4. Hit Save and then Done.
