Question

Hi, I need to know how to change the currency for a customer. The answer provided in the FAQ does not work for me because I don't have the billing tab they mention.

You need to inactivate your current customer and create another one with the required currency, Sk69. Let me guide you through this process to achieve your goal.

You cannot change your customer currency after setting them up and recording transactions in your QuickBooks Online (QBO). You need to inactivate the existing profile and create a new one with the currency you want to use.

Here's how to inactivate your customer:

  1. Log into your QBO account.
  2. Go to Sales, then select Customers.
  3. Click the customer's name to open their profile.
  4. Hover to the dropdown ▼ button next to Edit.
  5. Choose Make Inactive, then select Yes, and Make Inactive to confirm.

After that, create a new customer and ensure to select the currency at the top right option. Here's a visual reference you can refer to:

Also, the instructions in the Multi-currency FAQ article are based on our old layout. I encourage you to give feedback by signing up at the bottom and voting to help us keep our resources current.

Additionally, check out these articles to find out how to include more details and customize your sales transactions.

Keep me posted if you have more questions about managing your customer's currency. I'm just a notification bell away from your response.
