Question

Hi, when I create an item invoice, the invoice does not pre-fill the Selling Price although I add a selling price to the item when creating.

I create an item with a selling price and zero cost, because I wanted to enter cost of sales separately in bulk.

Hello there, rilwan. I'm here to provide information about the price item of your invoice in QuickBooks Online.

When you select Sales Receipt or Invoice from the Customers menu,  the only item that will be recalled is the Location. Auto-recall uses the info from the last saved transaction type for that specific customer, vendor, or employee.

If you see recommendations of open items to add to an expense, the pre-fill automation won't run. It only works if there are no recommendations.

I also recommend performing the basic troubleshooting steps. Sometimes, accumulated cache files in your browser may cause unexpected behavior, such as the one you're experiencing. Start by logging in to your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account using a private or incognito window. Based on your browser type, please refer to the keyboard shortcuts below:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

Then, attempt to create the price item of your invoice if this resolves the problem, return to your default browser and then clear the cache to refresh the page, and start with a clean slate. Alternatively, you can also use other supported browsers.

If you have further questions about managing your sales form, don't hesitate to reply. I'm always here to help you.
