HiHas any company based in Ireland using multi-currencies transferred their books from Desktop to online? How has this gone for you?

I have migrated the data across from desktop to online.  Incorrect balance have come across to my nominal current account.  I have checked my open invoice report and unpaid bills report and both have major differences from my desktop reports.  I also seem to have very old enteries carried over.  Move my books have been unable to assist.

You need to convert data from QB Desktop UK version to QB Online Ireland version, correct? MMB doesn't support to convert data with multicurrency transactions. Consider buying another 3rd party service to do so. Click on my profile name and you will find our website address to send an email to.

Hello there, ME-

I'm here to share information about migrating your data from QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to QuickBooks Online (QBO) and help you with the process.

I agree with what Fiat Lux - ASIA mentioned above. There are a few limitations to keep in mind before you convert or migrate from QBDT to QBO. One of those is converting with multicurrency transactions is currently not supported. This is the possible reason why your reports are different.

As a workaround, you can look for a third-party applications that can be integrated to QuickBooks that will allow you to migrate your multicurrency transactions from QBDT to QBO.

There are hundreds of third-party applications that can be integrated to QuickBooks. You can visit our App Center to look for one: https://quickbooks.intuit.com/app/apps/home/en-global/.

To check for some frequently asked questions (FAQS) about importing data to QBO, you can refer to this article: Common questions about importing data to QuickBooks Online.

I'm also adding this article to further guide you in effectively managing your business using QBO in the future: Self-help articles.

Please click the Reply button below if you have additional questions about this or anything else. I'll be here to assist. Take care.

Hi

Thanking you for your reply and suggestion.  Could you give me more details on how this third party service works?  Will I require this third party application going forward or is it only whilst I am migrating the data.  Sorry for the questions but am totally unfamiliar with this.  I am having a terrible experience in migrating data from desktop to online.

@ME-

You only need to purchase the conversion service once. Click on my profile name and you can find our website address to send an email to. Otherwise, you can explore to use a migration tool by yourself if required. e.g TPExporter for Desktop and TPImporter for Online.
