Hi there, Almaani. I can share with you some information about customizing invoice templates in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

The system allows you to customise your invoice template by changing the design, adding fields, entering footer text and other information. Using borders to separate your entries is currently unavailable. You can only use fields or columns to separate the details. Your items are separated into lines.

If the templates available don't match what you need, you can design your form and import it to QuickBooks manually. You can follow these steps to upload a customised template:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then click on Custom Form Styles.
  2. Select the New style dropdown menu, then Import style. If you don't see the option, go to the Gear icon, then QuickBooks Labs and enable Import Styles.
  3. Select a form type.
  4. Tap on the Upload your .DOCX file field, then find and select your .docx template.
  5. Hit Next.

For the detailed instructions from mapping the template fields, and adding them to QuickBooks, you can open this article: Import custom form styles for invoices or estimates.

From there, you're now ready to track your invoice transactions. If you're a project-based business, you can create progress invoices to request partial payments during a project. Here's how: Set up and send progress invoices in QuickBooks Online.

Let me know if you have any other questions about invoice templates. I'm always here to help. Have a good one!
