Question

How can I hide zero rates in an invoice? (i.e. we have a free service, we don't want a 0,00 to show in the invoice line)

It’s great to see you in the Community, risala1.

I can guide you through the process of how to hide zero rates for your invoices. Let’s turn off the Track quantity and price/rate option to achieve this.

Before we proceed, allow me to share some information on how the feature mentioned above works in QuickBooks Online (QBO). This functionality lets you add the Quantity and Rate fields to sales forms so you can track this information for products and services. Disabling this one will hide all the rates and prices on your invoices.

To turn off tracking for your quantity and price:

  1. Go to the Gear icon in the upper right and choose Account and settings under Your Company.
  2. Navigate to the Sales menu on the left panel and click the Pencil icon for Products and services.
  3. Then move the slider for Track quantity and price/rate to the left to disable it.
  4. Press the Save and Done button.

For more insights into this process, you can read through this article: Create an invoice that shows the total price without revealing the breakdown of the charges. It provides instructions on how to turn off the service date for sales forms, check the Collapse activity rows, etc.

Additionally, this resource will guide you on how to personalize and add specific information to sales forms: Customise invoices, estimates, and sales receipts in QuickBooks Online. It also contains answers to frequently asked questions about the customization process.
