I've got you covered, @stmarkanglicanch. Let me guide you on the steps to add your bank account to your chart of accounts.

You can easily add your bank account to the Chart of Accounts in QuickBooks Online. This way, you're able to track and organise other types of transactions linked to this account in the program. Please follow the steps below for your guide:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Click the New button to create a new account.
  3. Select Cash and cash equivalents or any account type in the Account Type dropdown.
  4. In the Detail Type dropdown, select Bank or other detail type.
  5. Enter the name of the account. You can also add a description if you want.
  6. Select Is sub-account, then enter the parent account if this account is a subaccount of an existing account.
  7. In the Balance field, enter the amount in the account and determine the as of date. You can enter today's date if you want to start tracking immediately.
  8. Select Save and Close once done.

In addition, you might consider connecting your bank to the program so you can import your transactions from your bank and categorise them with your existing transactions in QuickBooks, making your account accurate.
