QuickBooks Online automatically tracks your sales tax for you through the Tax feature, manishk-dad.

You'll want to make sure to turn on tax tracking so you'll be able to see the tax column on your invoice. To do this, follow the detailed steps below.

  1. Select Taxes on the left menu and select Set up tax.
  2. Set up the tax agency details such as the name of your tax agency, any official tax number that has been assigned to your company, your reporting method, how often you file your tax to your tax agency, and whether this tax is meant for sales or purchases, then select Next.
  3. Follow the steps to finish the setup and select Ok.

Once done, you'll be able to see the tax column when creating an invoice.  I've attached a screenshot so you'll be guided visually.

In addition, QuickBooks Online offers customers the ability to select from a list of commonly used (VAT/GST/GCT/IVA/ITBIS/TOT) rates in some countries. You may want to create additional tax rates at any time. Here's how:

  1. In the Tax Centre, select Add Tax.
  2. Choose which type of tax rate you want to set up.
  3. Enter the details of your tax rate. If you need help with this screen, select the help button (yellow question mark).
  4. Select Save when finished.
